Privacy

This site is a handful of plain, static pages. It sets no cookies, adds no tracking scripts, loads nothing from anyone else, and has no forms. The only measurement is a count of visits, which our host works out from its own server logs.

What these pages do in your browser

Nothing. There are no cookies, no tracking pixels, no scripts that watch what you do, and no forms to fill in. The site saves nothing in your browser and builds no record of your visit there.

What the pages load

Every file these pages need is served from this site itself: the stylesheet, the images, the letter PDF, the district list. There are no third-party scripts and no embedded or advertising services.

There are also no web fonts. The type you are reading comes from fonts already installed on your own device, so no font service is contacted to display these pages.

The district search

The searchable list of districts runs entirely inside your browser. The list is an ordinary file that arrives with the page, and what you type into the search box is never sent anywhere.

What the host sees

The site is hosted on Netlify. Like every web server, Netlify receives and logs the standard information your browser sends when it asks for a page: your IP address, which page you requested, the date and time, your browser's user-agent string, and the referring page if there is one. Netlify handles that information under its own privacy policy.

Visitor statistics

We use Netlify Analytics to see how much the site is being read. It works from the server logs described above rather than from anything running in your browser: it sets no cookies, adds no JavaScript to these pages, and does not follow you to other websites.

What it shows us is aggregate — how many pages were viewed, roughly how many distinct visitors there were, which pages were read most, which sites linked here, and which requests failed. It does not show us names, and we cannot identify you from it. The visitor count is worked out on Netlify's servers from the request information above, which stays with Netlify under its own policy.

Links to other sites

The letter and the overview link out to court records, news coverage, government pages, and the Internet Archive, which hosts the exhibits. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, under their privacy practices rather than ours.

Some footnotes link to Google's own pages, including YouTube's terms of service, the Google Workspace for Education terms, and Google's Gemini for education pages. Opening one of those means Google receives that request, as it would for any visit.

Email

The only way to reach us from this site is a plain link that opens your own mail program addressed to info@dmvunplugged.org. There is no web form and nothing is submitted through this site.

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you put in your message. We use it to reply, and, if you asked to be added as a signatory, to keep the signatory list. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share email addresses.

Children

Nothing on this site asks anyone, including children, for personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and nothing to submit.

Changes

If any of this changes — if a form, a cookie, or an embedded service is ever added — this page will be updated to say so.
